28.7 Percent Output Increase of China's Crude Steel the First 6 Months

According to the State Statistical Bureau of China, output of crude steel hit 165 million tons in the first 6 months this year, increased by 28.7 percent from last year. The monthly output in June hit 28.55 million tons, increased by 33 percent from the same period last year. For that June is one day short than May, the monthly output in June was a little lower than May but the daily output in the two months was almost the same. Concerning about steel products, the daily output of June increased slightly from the last month. If the daily output capacity in June could keep still to the end of this year, the annual output of crude steel will exceed 340 million tons and be increased by about 70 million tons from last year. Annual output of crude steel in 2004 was increased by 52 million tons from 2003.
